Wrapping Paper

Which wrapping paper roll?

700mm x 100m natural kraft counter roll: shop counters, florists, gift wrapping, market stalls · 60–70gsm pure kraft, about 3.6kg
700mm x 100m coloured counter rolls: gift wrapping at the till in a colour · colours vary with stock
750mm x 25m brown imitation kraft: gifts, book covering, craft and parcels · 70gsm
500mm x 25m brown imitation kraft: smaller gifts, craft and void fill · 70gsm

What is a counter roll?

A counter roll is sized to sit on a counter dispenser so staff can pull and tear wrapping paper at the till. A 700mm x 100m roll gives 70 square metres of paper, so it lasts far longer than a retail gift-wrap roll and means fewer roll changes in a busy week.

Pure kraft or imitation kraft?

Pure kraft, used for the counter rolls, is the stronger paper and resists tearing. Imitation kraft is a lighter, lower-cost brown paper with the same look, used for our 25m rolls; it suits home gift wrapping, book covering and craft.

How much paper is on a roll?

Multiply width by length: a 700mm x 100m counter roll gives 70 square metres, a 750mm x 25m roll gives 18.75 square metres and a 500mm x 25m roll gives 12.5 square metres.

Brown wrapping paper for Christmas and birthdays

Plain brown kraft makes a simple base for Christmas and birthday wrapping. Finish it with paper raffia ribbon or bakers twine and a round printed label as a gift tag.

Parcel wrapping

For wrapping parcels every day, the 215m and 250m pure kraft trade rolls are better value per metre; see our brown paper rolls.

Recycling

Plain, uncoated kraft paper can usually go in household paper recycling where kerbside collections accept paper. Check your local council’s guidance for printed or coloured papers.
