Tissue paper for packaging

Our tissue is machine-glazed (MG): smooth on one side, the standard for wrapping tissue. It is acid-free and chlorine-free, so it is safe next to textiles and prints, and it is made in Great Britain. Each sheet is 500 x 750mm, large enough to wrap folded clothing, cosmetics or a candle before it goes into a box or mailing bag, or to wrap delicate items at a till.

Tissue paper or wrapping paper?

Tissue paper is thin and soft, for wrapping inside a box, bag or mailer and for cushioning delicate items. Wrapping paper is the outer layer: our kraft wrapping paper comes as 700mm x 100m counter rolls for shops and 25m rolls for occasional use. Many sellers use both: tissue around the product, then plain kraft or a gift bag outside.

Better unboxing for online sellers

Wrap the item in tissue, seal the tissue with a round printed logo label, and post it in a paper mailing bag or a small postal box. It adds a finished look without adding much weight to the parcel.

Wrapping at the counter

Shops, florists and market stalls wrapping at the till use 700mm x 100m kraft counter rolls, with tissue to protect delicate items and raffia to finish.

Schools and craft

Assorted-colour tissue is a classroom craft staple. For classroom display boards, see our guide to display backing paper for schools.
