Which pack?

1 roll: a single room, small craft jobs, occasional labelling
2 or 3 rolls: decorating several rooms, classroom and craft projects
6 rolls: decorators, body shops, workshops and schools

Every roll is the same 25mm x 50m white tape; larger packs simply save reordering. The multi-packs are listed as water and solvent resistant.

Masking tape for painting

Low tack means the tape holds a straight edge along skirting boards, window frames and trim, then peels away after painting without lifting most surfaces. Press the edge down firmly before you paint for a cleaner line.

Car body spraying and larger areas

Use masking tape to hold edges and trim, and cover larger areas with brown paper taped down at the edges. Our brown paper rolls come in widths from 500mm to 900mm for masking off panels, floors and furniture.

Labelling and craft

The white surface takes pen, so masking tape doubles as a temporary label for boxes, files, cables and paint tins, and is a classroom craft staple.

Masking tape or packing tape?

Masking tape is low tack and made to come off. To seal parcels and boxes, use permanent paper packing tape or water-activated gummed tape instead.

Frequently asked questions

Will masking tape leave residue?
It is low tack and removes cleanly from most painted, plastic and metal surfaces.

Can I write on it?
Yes, so it works as a temporary label.

What width is it?
25mm, on 50 metre rolls.

Is it water resistant?
Yes. The multi-packs are also listed as solvent resistant.

Can I seal parcels with masking tape?
It is not made for that. Masking tape is low tack so it comes off cleanly; use paper packing tape or gummed tape to seal boxes.

Do you sell other widths?
Not at present: the range is 25mm x 50m rolls in packs of 1, 2, 3 and 6.
