Why a solvent adhesive?

Solvent-based adhesive sticks to itself, so you can overlap strips at the corners of a frame and layer the tape where needed. It also performs better than acrylic adhesive at temperature extremes. It is self-adhesive, so there is no water or dispenser to set up.

Acid-free framing tape

Our 24mm, 25mm and 48mm framers tapes are acid-free, which suits framing work. The 24mm and 48mm rolls are 57gsm saturated kraft made in Italy, are moisture resistant and can be written on, which is useful for frame references and hanging notes. Check the product page for the acid-free status of other widths.

Shipping framed art

The 48mm printed ‘FRAGILE’ framers tape is 56gsm kraft with the same solvent adhesive. It seals the box and marks it fragile in one step, for framers and sellers posting framed art, glass and ceramics.

Framers tape or gummed tape?

Self-adhesive framers tape is quicker to apply and needs no water. If you prefer a water-activated seal, use gummed paper tape with a dispenser. For sealing everyday parcels, see our paper packing tapes.

Trade and workshop packs

The 24- and 36-roll packs of 36mm tape suit framing workshops, galleries and print shops that get through tape every day. For repeat or larger orders, contact us.
